TAQUEEN participated in the We Are Inclusion World Congress at Expo Centre Sharjah from 15–17 September 2025, presenting practical examples of inclusive craftsmanship and employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
What Inclusion Means
Inclusion is the meaningful participation of people with different abilities and backgrounds throughout business and society. It goes beyond diverse hiring by providing genuine opportunities, accessible workplaces and recognition for every individual’s contribution.
- Better problem-solving through diverse perspectives
- A stronger sense of belonging within teams
- Greater resilience and innovation
- Deeper relationships with the community
We Are Inclusion: A Platform for Change
Held in partnership with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, the three-day congress brought together leaders, innovators and advocates to exchange effective practices and develop practical ideas for a more inclusive society.
TAQUEEN showcased handcrafted copper products, its inclusive employment model and interactive workshops for a diverse audience.
TAQUEEN’s Participation
Our team demonstrates what becomes possible when talent is recognised and supported. Visitors were drawn to the copper pieces for both their craftsmanship and what they represent: empowerment, dignity and skill. Live demonstrations also introduced visitors to the artisans behind the work.
Visit by the Ruler of Sharjah
A highlight of the congress was the visit of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to the TAQUEEN stand. His interest in the mission and products provided meaningful encouragement to the artisans, their families and the wider community supporting equal opportunity.
Support from Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services
The involvement of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services reflected the emirate’s commitment to inclusion and the empowerment of people with disabilities. TAQUEEN supports this vision through training, skill development and inclusive employment.
Copper Craftsmanship with Khaled Taleb
Artisan Khaled Taleb led live workshops that gave visitors a practical introduction to copper shaping and traditional craftsmanship.

Wool Craftsmanship with Othman
Artisan Othman led live wool-craft workshops, allowing visitors to experience the skill and creativity behind this traditional craft.

Inclusion in E-commerce
E-commerce can help establish stronger standards for inclusion through accessible digital experiences, supportive employment practices and products that reflect diverse communities. TAQUEEN’s online platform shares artisan stories and connects every purchase with empowerment and sustainable employment.
How to Support Inclusion
- Review workplaces for accessibility and fairness
- Provide training, volunteering and employment opportunities for people with disabilities
- Celebrate diversity and encourage open discussion about inclusion
A Lasting Impact
The experience of participating in We Are Inclusion will continue to support TAQUEEN’s mission. Inclusion is an ongoing journey, and every opportunity given to talent helps build a brighter shared future.
